Health Connect, fragmented health data and Body Mode
Android Health Connect can act as a user-controlled bridge between compatible health and fitness apps. An app only receives categories of data that the user authorises and that the platform supports.
Why context matters
Steps, sleep and workouts are often stored in different places. A planning app can use authorised context to avoid asking the user to manually repeat information that already exists on the device.
How Body Mode approaches it
Body Mode is designed to use supported Health Connect context as one input to a broader wellness plan. Health Connect does not make the app a medical diagnostic service; it is a data interoperability layer controlled by Android permissions.
Privacy principle
Users should review the current Google Play Data safety information and the Android permission prompts before granting access. The current release, not a marketing page, is the source for the exact categories requested.
